OXY-ACETYLENE WELDING AND CUTTING
General Conditions
Students must be trained on the safe use of Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Cutting
equipment before they may begin using it. The student must demonstrate to the
teacher proficiency and the safe work procedures that must be followed before usage.
Personal Protective Equipment
• Shade 5 cutting goggles or glasses
• Safety glasses
• Leather welding gloves
• Coveralls or leather jacket/apron
• Safety footwear
Possible Risk Factors
• Hot molten metal
• Eye burns [splatter]
• Welding fumes
• Small projectiles [chipped slag or debris]
• Hand injuries
• Cuts and Abrasions
• Explosion
The student has been trained on this equipment.
The student understands the required personal protective equipment to operate this
equipment.
The student is aware of the possible risk factors
